Intertwined: Based on a True Story

These are the first few paragraphs of my book, Intertwined: Based on a True Story . The facts stated in these paragraphs truly happened to me. Sometimes you have no choice but to believe. Jules V. Ness  I woke with such a start that my body had automatically bolted itself into an upright position. For some reason, unknown to me, I had an overwhelming feeling that I was being observed. Even though my eyes were still blurry from sleep and not quite cooperating, I frantically searched the immediate area surrounding my bed. I felt a sudden stab in my gut as I realized someone truly was there, standing at the very foot of my bed. I flung my hand out sideways in the darkness towards my bedside table. I was desperately searching for my eyeglasses that I had left lying there just a few hours earlier. Without them or my contact lenses, what I thought I was visualizing as a person could easily have been my bathrobe dangling innocently from the six foot tall post at the end of my be...

Paranormal Portal to a Parallel Universe

Image
Ever wonder if there really is a soul? Do you believe that people can talk with the dead? If spirits of the dead exist, where do they reside? Do Parallel Universes really exist? Can we receive visitors from Parallel Universes? A Paranormal encounter led to this eBook by Walter Parks available in all formats, including PDF that addresses these questions. "My friend Dr. Robert (Bob) Russell said that he knew a girl that could communicate with the dead. I didn’t believe him. He invited me to an “encounter” to prove it. We went to a very weird old house where a Paranormal Investigative Team was working. They had some pretty sophisticated equipment. We all watched as their equipment recorded the paranormal encounter in detail. The temperature sensing equipment showed significant and rapid temperature drops when the "entities" appeared. Their electromagnetic sensors recorded the spikes of appearance and higher than normal levels as their presence continued. Their infra red ...

The Paranormal Has a Musical Following

Image
I have reviewed books, TV shows, and the occasional movie, but not so much music. There seems to be a bit of a shortage on paranormal related music. Not horror. Paranormal. I was asked to give an Indie paranormal modern folk singer/songwriter a chance. Honestly, I haven't heard a lot of folk music that has grabbed my attention in the past and I know there has been some great singers who have bulldozed the genre in to the population's hearts. I have an eclectic taste in music and was willing to give Jonah Knight a try. Jonah Knight is someone who has experimented music with several bands including taking a break for writing plays. After six years as a playwright, he picked up his guitar and approached music with a clean slate. Knight has recorded four albums, including a soundtrack to the novel Nobody Gets the Girl by James Maxey , and is currently working on his fifth, another novel (steampunk theme) soundtrack. He sings and plays about ghosts, monsters, superheroes and pirates...

Haunted Theatres in London

The below article comes to you from Ben Piper Web Editor UK Tickets : London’s theatres are steeped in history, so it’s not surprising that tales of ghostly goings on are rife in their buildings. Many actors and staff have had haunting experiences - from furtive figures, to possessed props and suspicious smells. Here is a rundown of some of the more famous: Adelphi Theatre In 1897 the Stage Door of the Adelphi Theatre was the scene of a grisly murder when stage star William Terriss was stabbed to death by unemployed actor Richard Arthur Prince. Described as a tall man dressed in a turn of the century suit, Terriss is said to wander the fine old building, with sightings also reported at nearby Covent Garden Underground Station. Aldwych Theatre The popular venue, just off The Strand, has tales of an unusual haunting that produces fragrances of different flowers, perfumes and even cigar smoke in different parts of the building, with no apparent source for the various strong scents. Duke o...

Murder in the Thumb

Image
From Richard Carson's website: Murder is an infrequent visitor in the Village of Caro, a community of 4,000 in Michigan's Thumb area. When Robin Adams disappeared on a steamy August night in 1976 leaving a two-year-old boy for whom she was babysitting unattended, her friends and family feared the worst. Her former boyfriend, Melvin Garza, a fiery 19-year-old Mexican-American, had angrily opposed Robin's attempts to break up with him. Lost amid concern for the missing 17-year-old, who would never have left the little boy alone, was the strange prophesy of a Ouija board. A year or so earlier, the board "said" Robin would die before her 17th birthday. This was but the beginning of a litany of bizarre of events, some tragic, most lacking logical explanation. Rumors of black magic practiced against a key witness, the extraordinarily accurate predictions of two psychics whom police consulted combine to create a story with a surprise around every corner. Add to that, th...

Author Interview - Lance Lee Noel

Image
Lance Lee Noel attended the University of Missouri, where he excelled both in the classroom and on the field as a member of the Tiger football team. He later went on to achieve a Masters Degree from the University of Missouri in St. Louis. A Missouri native, he draws on his lifelong passion for history to make the details of Civil War era come alive. After touring American battle sites for more than fifteen years, he traveled to Lone Jack in 2006. When he heard the story of the battle, he knew this tale had the power to inspire a new generation of young adults. Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. What inspired you to incorporate the Battle of Lone Jack in to a fiction novel rather than nonfiction? Thank you for your interest in the book. I really appreciate it! Growing up in Missouri I was a little surprised and disappointed that The Battle of Lone Jack was an event I wasn’t familiar with as a kid. As a result, I hoped to get young people more interested in the ba...

The Ark, The Shroud and Mary

A New Book and Documentary Places the Shroud of Turin Back into the First Century AD Author to tour in Sydney, Australia 26th May - 4th June "sure to ignite a firestorm of controversy " The new book and DVD, The Ark, The Shroud and Mary by best selling author Philip Gardiner places the Shroud back into the first century AD and explains how it was made. Using cutting edge science and the latest information on quantum physics, Gardiner explains how the individual whose image the Shroud represents was in an extreme state of euphoria brought on by intense beating and near death experience, which caused neutrons to escape atoms and hence causing neutron radiation burns on the linen. With the added implication of anointing fluid the radiation was magnified and affected the carbon dating of the 1980's. But, that was not all. Gardiner wanted to know who the man was and, as he explains in the book, he ran into some remarkable new evidence in a secret meeting in Portugal with an...

Saturday Guest Post - Ghost Song

Here is a personal ghost story sent in from Jeff Knabel: This is the story of a song I wrote about an experience I had with the ghost of a woman actress from the 1800's. I was staying at a friends place in Longmont, Colorado last April 2006. It used to be called 'The Times Call' building years ago. The upstairs where I stayed had been closed off since 1964. There is a calendar hanging on one of the doors in the apartment looking over Main St. The page is still on April 1964. In the late 1800's they used to print one of the local newspapers, 'The Times Call', on the 1st floor. There was a big explosion from a gunpowder barrel, in the basement next door in the 1870's, and the building and the adjacent buildings had to be rebuilt as a result of the fire that ripped through walls of half a city block. 'The Dickens Opera House' at the end of the street was spared. A bystander, who was standing on top of the opera house at the time of the explosion...
